BEL AIR, Md. - The No. 6 Harford women's lacrosse team (1-3, 1-1) earned their first win of the 2011 season, defeating Howard (2-2, 0-2) 17-12, on Monday. The victory was the first for first-year head coach
Lindsey Gormley.
Sophomore
Jaclyn Hall stole the show with a six-goal, three-assist performance. Freshman
Kelsey Byrd was also a force offensively, scoring three times and adding a helper.
A trio of Fighting Owls scored twice,
Kaylee Litke,
Holly Webb and
Sarah Chetelat.
Megan Fennell added a goal and a pair of assists in the win.
The Harford defense was strong, especially in the early going, as
Kaitlyn Hall earned the win between the pipes, making 12 saves.
The Fighting Owls travel to face No. 3 Catonsville on Thursday at 5 p.m.
