HAGERSTOWN, Md. - The Harford volleyball team (6-3, 4-2) dropped the first game of the inaugural Flight Night rivalry at Hagerstown (9-6, 5-0) on Wednesday. The Hawks took a 1-0 lead in the Battle of the Birds standings in straight-sets, 25-11, 25-4, 25-14.

Held to a season-low 29 points in the loss, the Fighting Owls totaled just 14 kills. Brandi Smith led the way with four kills, while Amanda Mackey, Lauren Cappellini and Marissa Curran added three apiece.

The Fighting Owls travel to Howard on Friday at 7:30 p.m.
