BEL AIR, Md. The Harford volleyball team (13-5) celebrated Sophomore Night with a 3-1 victory over Delaware County (9-10) on Thursday. The Fighting Owls took down the Phantoms 25-27, 25-12, 26-24, 25-16.
Five sophomores were honored pregame and played their final home match at the Susquehanna Center. The spohomore class has now won a program reord 23 games with five road games and at least one playoff game remaining on the slate.
Sophomore
Brandi Smith recorded seven kills and five total blocks in the win.
Maddie Hewitt tallied five digs, giving her 101 on the season and back-to-back 100-dig seasons.
Rachel Jirsa had four digs, while
Lauren Cappellini and
Kori Hawkins had two and one kill, respectively.
Lexie Roberts led the way with her first career triple-double with 17 kills, 10 digs and a career-high 11 aces.
Ashley Joyner had nine kills and three blocks, while
Krysten Turner had three kills and four blocks. The Fighting Owls totaled 9.5 team blocks in the win, their fifth in a row.
Julua Berg handd out 33 assists for the Fighting Owls, who travel to Delaware Tech-Terry for a pair of matches on Saturday.
