Men's Soccer Claims Win Number 10

BEL AIR, Md. -- Sophomore Chris Cheelsman's hat trick headlined Harford men's soccer's (10-5, 8-3 MD JUCO) 9-0 thrashing of Bryn Athyn on Sophomore Night.

The Fighting Owls ended the regular season on a high note, scoring a season-high nine goals in a shutout victory. Cheelsman led the way with his second hat trick of the season to give him a team-leading 12 goals on the season. Fellow sophomores Tim Franczkowski, Stuart Kennedy and Chris King each hit the back of the net on the night they were honored. Kennedy and King each scored their first career goal.

Freshmen Felipe Botteon, Saidu Sankoh and Lucas Ward rounded out the scoring with a goal each. Sophomore Carmine Hess finished the game with two assists. Cheelsman, Keith Cyphers, Matthew Madeira, Raul Xavier, Dylan Tipton and Gus Palma each added a helper. Sophomore keeper David Bush got the start in goal and was credited with his first win of the season.

The Fighting Owls will be riding a four-game win streak into the NJCAA Region XX Championships next week which will take place at Harford Stadium. Harford will begin the tournament next Wednesday, October 24th. Their opponent has yet to be determined.
