Volleyball Splits Day One Of Hagerstown Tourney

HAGERSTOWN, Md. - The Harford volleyball team (9-5) split a pair of contests on day one of the Tracey Leather Tournament in Hagerstown on Saturday. The Fighting Owls lost to Allegany, 3-0, and defeated Frederick, 3-1.

Allegany def. Harford, 25-21, 25-17, 25-14
Lexie Roberts led the offense in the loss with 17 kills. Julua Berg added 22 assists and 15 digs, while Rachel Jirsa chipped in with 10 digs. Ashley Joyner recorded six kills and one block.

Harford def. Frederick, 25-11, 25-23, 21-25, 25-23
Joyner was an offensive powerhouse in the day one victory, attacking at a .545 clip with six kills on 11 attempts with zero errors. Roberts again led the way with 16 kills with 11 digs and three aces.

Krysten Turner added five kills on eight attempts with zero errors for a .625 hitting percentage. She added four blocks while Berg handed out 31 assists.

The Fighting Owls take on Baltimore City and CCBC Catonsville on Sunday.
