Murphy Earns First Win In Lacrosse Rout, 23-12

BEL AIR, Md. - The No. 6 Harford women's lacrosse team upended No. 3 CCBC-Catonsville on Tuesday, 23-12. Harford head coach Nikki Murphy earned her first career victory with the win.

The Fighting Owls (1-2, 1-0 MD JUCO) jumped out to a 7-0 lead, including a pair of goals in the first 23 seconds of play, and never looked back. Freshman attack Sara Lebrun recorded 10 points in the win with a career-high eight goals and two assists.

All but two Harford field players notched the scoring column with a goal or an assist. Eight players recorded a multiple-point contest, led by Lebrun's 10 points on nine shots.

Freshman attack Katie Spence scored twice and assisted on five goals on the afternoon while Maddie Hewitt had a pair of goals and one helper. Morgan Cillo, Megan Fennell, Amanda Jones, Jennifer Miller and Brooke Poore all had two points for Harford.

Freshman goalkeeper Maggie Shifflett made 10 saves earning her first win of the season.

The Fighting Owls travel to No. 8 CCBC-Essex on Thursday for a 7 p.m. conference tilt.
