The sixth ranked Harford women's lacrosse team (2-3, 1-1 MD JUCO) put forth a balanced effort to get a victory over non-conference foe, Erie (0-2). The Fighting Owls were powered by a four-goal performance by sophomore
Sara Lebrun.
Harford scored six goals in the first half and backed it up with seven more goals in the second. It was a very choppy, foul riddled game for the first 25 minutes of the first half. The teams were tied with just under six to go when the Fighting Owls found their groove offensively. They scored five goals in the final six minutes, including an explosion of three in the last 1:07, to go into half time with a 6-2 lead. Harford scored three more goals in the opening seven minutes of the second half to make it eight unanswered and to build an insurmountable 9-2 lead.
Along Lebrun's four goals, sophomore
Becca Kuhn and freshmen
Brooke Poore and
Jennifer Miller tossed in two goals each. Freshmen
Maddie Hewitt and
Katie Spence had a goal and an assist each and sophomore
Morgan Cillo netted once. Freshman
Maggie Shifflett had a strong game in goal with 14 saves.
The Fighting Owls look to get back to .500 overall when they hit the road to face conference rival Anne Arundel on Tuesday, March 27th.
