Men's Soccer Topples Anne Arundel, 6-3

Box Score
ARNOLD, Md. - The Harford men's soccer team improved to 4-1 in MD JUCO play with a 6-3 road victory over rival Anne Arundel on Tuesday. A pair of Fighting Owl forwards each recorded a pair of goals in the rain-soaked win.

After a 30 minute weather delay, Felipe Botteon, Dylan Tipton and the rest of the Fighting Owl offense wasted no time getting on the scoreboard. Just 2:30 into the contest, Harford grabbed a 1-0 lead when the offense put on a passing clinic that ended with a Botteon tally off an assist from Tipton.

The Pioneers took a 2-1 lead just seven minutes later after a goal off a free kick just outside the box and a fast break tally.

The Fighting Owls would take a 3-2 lead into the break thanks to a pair of goals by Chris Cheelsman. Raul Xavier assisted on the first score in the 35th minute, and the second goal was unassisted just before halftime in the 44th minute.

Glenn Grove played well even though he didn't make a notch in the scoring column. He earned a penalty kick five minutes into the second half, and Tipton scored the PK as the game-winning goal. Saidu Sankoh retook the MD JUCO scoring lead with his seventh goal in the game's 73rd minute. Botteon tallied his second goal of the game in the 83rd minute to round out the scoring.

Christian Vito made three saves in goal for his fourth win of the year. The team travels to Chesapeake on Thursday at 4 p.m.
