WYE MILLS, Md. - The Harford men's soccer team (5-3, 5-1 MD JUCO) scored seven goals en route to a road conference shutout at Chesapeake (0-5, 05 MD JUCO) on Thursday, 7-0. The Fighting Owls are an amazing 19-1-1 in their last 21 MD JUCO games.
Sophomore forward
Chris Cheelsman continued his recent hot streak with three goals and an assist in the win. He has six goals and an assist in his last four games.
Four other Fighting Owls found the back of the net in the win, as
Glenn Grove,
Jack Hadley,
Raul Xavier and
Gus Palma scored goals. Xavier added a pair of helpers along Matt Maderia, and Hadley and
Carmine Hess also recorded an assist.
Christian Vito earned his fifth win in goal, playing just 20 minutes without making a save. He was substitued for by
David Bush with Harford leading 2-0. Bush made two saves in 70 minutes of action.
The Fighting Owls return home for a Region XX contest against Southern Maryland, the team that ended their magical 2011 season in the 2011 Region XX Final. The biggest contest of the season begins at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 25 at Harford Stadium.
