Box Score FREDERICK, Md. - The Harford women's volleyball team earned a five-set victory over Frederick, giving the Fighting Owls their best start in school history with a 7-1 mark. After dropping two of the first three sets on the road, Harford won the final two for the victory.

The Fighting Owls and first-year head coach Christy Callahan now sit at 7-1 overall and 5-1 in the MD JUCO after a 20-25, 25-15, 17-25, 25-21, 15-8 victory over the Cougars (3-5, 3-3 MD JUCO).

Freshman Lexie Roberts added to her already impressive rookie resume with a 17-kill, 17-dig effort in the win. Sophomore Maddie Hewitt talied 15 digs, while classmate Brandi Smith pounded out four aces.

Both Ashley Joyner and Lauren Cappellini both totaled five kills while Abby Claborn and Julua Berg chipped in with 19 and 16 assists, respectively.

The Fighting Owls travel to Allegany on Tuesday.
