Men's Soccer Season Ends In Semis

Box Score
BEL AIR, Md. - The 2013 Harford men's soccer season came to an end in the Region XX Semifinals on Wednesday. The No. 2 Fighting Owls fell to third-seeded Southern Maryland, 3-1.

The Fighting Owls quickly fell behind 2-0 in a pair of well-designed goals. CSM scored in the game's 2nd and 23rd minutes on goals from Kevin Christian and Sean Bucior.

Harford rallied and scored just before the half on a rocket off a free kick from Felipe Botteon, but trailed at the half 2-1. The Fighting Owls and Botteon had two more scoring chances before the break, and controlled the first half of the second session, but an own goal during a rare Hawk second-half scoring opportunity put the game away.

Harford failed to reach the RXX Finals for the first time in three seasons and finish the season with 10 victories for the third-straight season. The Fighting Owls finished in second place in the MD JUCO conference.
