Women's Soccer Falls In Finals, 2-1

Box Score
BEL AIR, Md. - The Harford women's soccer team saw its season end in the 2013 Region XX Championship Game on Saturday. The Fighting Owls lost to Southern Maryland, 2-1.

Harford took a 1-0 lead after a penalty kick by freshman Teresa Berg. Savannah Humphreys was tackled by the goalie in the box during a scoring chance to award the Harford PK.

The 1-0 hole that the Hawks were in was just the third time that CSM had trailed all season. But Alysse Houston netted the tying goal after a scrum in front of the box. Harford tried to clear the ball, but Houston found it at her feet, and tipped it to the opposite side of the net past the diving Madison Smith.

In the second half, Southern Maryland netted the game winner off a free kick from Sabrina Paz.

The loss ended the season for Harford with an 12-4-0 record and second place in the MD JUCO Conference.
