WYE MILLS, Md. - The Harford men's basketball team (2-5) picked up a much needd victory to open the conference slate on Wednesday. The Fighting Owls snapped a five-game losing streak with a 79-77 win over host Chesapeake.
In a back-and-forth affair, it was a total team effort that lifted the men to their first conference victory. Harford connected on a season-best nine triples and received a huge spark off an alley-oop from
Davonte Williams to
Nate Nelson.
Williams finished with 15 points, five boards and five assists off the bench, while the Fighting Owls were led by MD JUCO leading scorer
Chidozie Omile's 28 points, including 5-of-7 from behind the arc.
Shendell Chase pitched in with 14 points and 10 rebounds.
The Fighting Owls host Southern Maryland on Friday at 7 p.m.
