BEL AIR, Md. - The Harford men's basketball team (1-1) dropped its 2013-14 home opener on Tuesday, 80-72, to Burlington. The Fighting Owls held an early 13-point lead but fell after poor play in the first half.

The Barons trailed 22-9 midway through the first half, but a 20-1 run gave Burlington a lead it would not relinquish. Harford trailed 42-27 at the break and fell behind by as many at 25 in the loss.

After his breakout 40-point performance in the opener, Chidozie Omile finished with 19 points and six rebounds for Harford. Byron Hawkes added 10 off the bench, and all four other starters scored at least eight points.

Harford hosts Atlantic Cape on Friday at 7 p.m.
