COLUMBIA, Md. - The No. 9 Harford women's lacrosse team dropped its season opener at No. 7 Howard on Tuesday, 15-13. The Fighting Owls held the slight advantage at the break, but couldn't close out the victory.

Sara Lebrun led the way with four goals, while Colleen Chassagne added three. Katie Spence and Siera Sadtler chipped in with two goals, each.

Abby Ranney led the offense with two assists and Maggie Shifflett was solid in goal with 11 saves.

The Fighting Owls host Onondaga on Friday at 1 p.m.
