BEL AIR, Md. – The No. 5 Harford Women's Lacrosse team surged to their fourth straight win, topping CCBC Essex (4-6, 0-5 MD JUCO) 22-13.
Harford (6-4, 5-2 MD JUCO) used a balanced attack, with multi-goal games from seven players in the lineup.
Emily Nosek led all scorers with four goals.
The Fighting Owls only trailed once in the game by one goal. After falling behind 6-5 with 13:23 remaining in the first half, Harford finished the half on an 8-2 run, pulling ahead 13-8 and never looking back.
Colleen Chassagne,
Maddie Hewitt and
Sierra Sadtler each scored hat tricks for the Fighting Owls. Chassagne also dished out three assists to lead the team with six points.
Sara Lebrun scored two goals and added an assist giving her three points for the game and brings her career total to 90 points. She has three games left in the regular season to become the second Harford player ever to reach the career milestone of 100 points.
Katie Spence and
Emily McDowell also notched two goals each to help power the Fighting Owls' offense. Spence added three assists to total five points for the game.
Maggie Shifflett held the Knights at bay with nine saves in goal.
Brittany Cudmore also had a strong game with a goal and three assists.
The Fighting Owls hit the road for a pair of games in New York this weekend. They face Monroe-Rochester on Saturday at noon and Herkimer on Sunday at noon.
