ARNOLD, Md. - The No. 7 Harford women's lacrosse team (2-4, 2-2 MD JUCO) dropped a conference road tilt at No. 3 Anne Arundel (6-2, 4-0 MD JUCO) on Thursday, 16-5. The Fighting Owls hung tough for 15 minutes before the defending conference and region champions pulled away.

Maggie Shifflett made 16 saves in goal while Maddie Hewitt led the way offensively with two goals. Emily McDowell, Katie Spence and Sierra Sadtler also chipped in with goals.

The Fighting Owls trailed 8-2 at the half, but a weak transition game in the midfield ranks was the difference. Kayla Hertz led the Pioneers with five goals and three assists.

Harford returns home to host Nassau at 10 a.m. on Sunday.
