BEL AIR, Md. - Playing without head coach Nikki Murphy, the No. 7 Harford women's lacrosse team (3-4) defeated Nassau (1-5) at home on Sunday, 19-8. Murphy missed her first game while giving birth to her daughter, Celia, this morning.

Abby Ranney, Sara Lebrun and Colleen Chassagne each scored three goals while Maddie Hewitt and Djene Diane each added two scores.

The two teams were tied at 6-6 at the half, but the Fighting Owls netted seven-straight goals after the break to pull away from Nassau.

Maggie Shifflett made 12 saves in goal. Hewitt and Sierra Sadtler both had four draw controls and Sadtler added a goal and an assist in the win. Brittany Cudemore and Katie Spence also chipped in with a goal and an assist.

First-year assistant coach Cailey Aburn was the lone coach on the sideline, as Lisa Parr also had a conflict.

The Fighting Owls host Howard on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m.
