BEL AIR, Md. - The Harford men's soccer team scored early and often in its 2013 season opener, defeating Delaware County, 13-0, on Monday evening. All-American Saidu Sankoh scored four goals and assisted on another, while freshman Nat Hand added two goals and four assists in his collegiate debut.
Forward Asa Driscoll opened and closed the scoring for the Fighting Owls. His tally in the game's 14th minute opened the flood gates, and he scored the game's final two goals to net a hat trick in his first collegiate game to go along with two assists.
Hand then had a hand (or foot) in the next six goals, scoring the game's second and seventh goals while assisting on four consecutive markers.
Stephen Friend, Ben Green and Jack Hadley each had multiple points in the win.
Harford outshot the Phantoms 55-3, including a 24-1 on goal margin. Freshmen Ian Dowding and Logan Keys split time in net, with Keys making Harford's lone save.
The Fighting Owls hit the road for a pair of contests in North Carolina, against Cape Fear and Spartanburg Methodist, on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.
