BEL AIR, Md. - The Harford men's soccer team took a 3-1 lead into the game's final 10 minutes, but after a Howard flurry, the Fighting Owls needed
Jack Hadley's overtime magic to secure the win, 4-3.
All-American
Saidu Sankoh and Armondo Ercole connected in the 80th minute to seemingly ice the victory with a 3-1 lead. Ercole threaded the needle between two defenders to a streaking Sankoh for the goal.
The Dragons then kicked it into high gear and scored off a rebound with six minutes remaining. Moments later, a long and high cross landed near the far post and off the head of a perfectly placed forward for the equalizer, setting up overtime.
Just 1:02 into the extra frame, Ercole again found a streaking Harford forward. Hadley made sure to end the contest with a sliding goal in front of the net for the game winner.
Hadley also scored the game's first goal, while Soloman Koomsan-Dadzie connected on his first goal in the game's 22nd minute for a 2-0 lead.
The Fighting Owls take on CCBC Catonsville on Friday at 7:30 p.m. on the road.
