Mercer County Stops Men's Soccer Streak, 2-1

Box Score
BEL AIR, Md. - A late goal from Nat Hand and numerous scoring chances in the final minutes was not enough for the Harford men's soccer team (6-2-1) against Mercer County on Sunday. The 2-1 loss ended the Fighting Owls' modest four-match win streak.

Hand's marker gave Harford new life against a speedy Mercer squad. Harford plenty of opportunities, but the Viking goalie knocked away at least three shots away from both Felipe Botteon and Jack Hadley.

Mercer scored in the game's 10th minute on a long run and upped the advantage to 2-0 off a corner in the 60th minute.

Hand's goal came from a set play from Chris Almquist and Dominic Fannon.

The Fighting Owls host rival Hagerstown on Wednesday at 5 p.m. inside Harford Stadium.
