BALTIMORE - The Harford women's soccer team (3-0-0) earned a 2-0 road victory over CCBC Essex on Saturday avenging last season's playoff loss to the Knights.

The Fighting Owls scored in the 20th and 22nd minute and held on for their second consecutive shutout in the win. Last year, the Knights ended Harford's season in the Region XX semifinal in a shootout. It marked the earliest the Fighting Owls' season had ended in seven years.

Ange Barbieri netted her first goal off an assist from Morgan Kaseman in the 20th minute. Two minutes later, Kaseman found the back of the net for a 2-0 advantage. Both goals came off of fre kicks.

Madison Smith made seven saves for her second-straight shutout.

Harford hosts Howard on Tuesday at 4 p.m.
