BALTIMORE - The Harford men's basketball team fell in a road conference tilt on Thursday at Baltimore City, 89-75. Despite having three players with double-doubles and another as the game's leading scorer, the Fighting Owls struggled from both the 3-point and free throw lines while committing too many turnovers.
Chidozie Omile led all scorers with 26 points, and
Wyatt Smith,
Robert Konteh and
Tyler Napierala each collected the statistical double-double for Harford in the losing effort. Overall, the Fighting Owls shot 18.2 percent (4-for-22) from behind the arc and 59.0 percent (23-for-39) from the stripe.
Smith tallied a baker's dozen in both points and rebounds while Konteh chipped in with 10 and 11, respectively. Napierala recorded his first career double-double with 10 and 10 to go along with a team-best four helpers.
BCCC's Xavier Roberts just missed a triple-double with 23 points, 10 boards and a game-high nine assists.
The Fighting Owls host Cecil on Saturday in a special Hall of Fame contest. The women tip at noon, followed by the men's contest.
