Friend Saves 10 In Scoreless Tie

Box Score
BEL AIR, Md. - The Harford men's soccer team (8-7-1) played to a scoreless tie in the driving rain against Harcum (7-7-1) on Wednesday night. Sophomore goalkeeper Stephen Friend made 10 saves, including a game-saver in the 105th minute.

The Bears were the aggressor in the contest, outshooting Harford 21-12, with 11 shots on goal to the Fighting Owls' four. Harcum also had twice as many fouls and yellow cards in the rain.

But the star of the match of Friend, who made a few sprawling saves to conserve the clean sheet and tie. As the clock was ticking down, he dove to his right and stretched his arms as far as they could go to stop a hard shot by Harcum's Rush. A Fighting Owl defender also knocked a would-be game winner away with his head in the final moments.

Harford's regular season concluded with the tie, and the Fighting Owls will now prepare for next week's Region XX Tournament.
