LA PLATA, Md. - The Harford men's soccer team's (7-5-0, 6-2-0 MD JUCO) six-game MD JUCO winning streak came to an abrupt end on Wednesday at Southern Maryland (8-5-0, 6-2-0 MD JUCO). The Hawks scored a pair of early markers and while the Fighting Owls were trying to get back in the game, CSM added a pair of late tallies for the 4-0 win.
Southern Maryland's Sean Bucior, one of the top players in the conference, scored three times in the win. He ranks second in the MD JUCO with 18 goals. The loss drops the Fighting Owls into a three-way tie for second place in the conference with CSM and Howard, who both have 18 points with three MD JUCO contests remaining.
Trailing 2-0 at the half, the Fighting Owls opened the second frame on the offensive, but struck the crossbar three times in the first 15 minutes and were shut out the first time since Sept. 5. Harford had won seven of its last eight matches.
Harford travels to Frederick on Tuesday at 3 p.m.
