Smelkinson Era Begins With Win

ALEXANDRIA, Va. - The Fighting Owls men's basketball team earned an 81-77 victory over Northern Virginia on Saturday in Mike Smelkinson's first game as head coach at Harford. The road win snapped a 14-game losing streak for the men's program.

Sophomore Malachi Seney and freshman Exzavier Cooper led the Fighting Owls with 16 points apiece. Cameron Smith added 11 points and five rebounds and Josh Ortiz chipped in with 10 and six.

Jon Warren netted eight points and Cedric Hines scored six second half points off the bench.

The Fighting Owls host Delaware County on Wednesday at 7 p.m. inside the APGFCU Arena.
