Box Score BALTIMORE - Playing in the biggest game of the regular season, the Harford women's lacrosse team scored five-straight goals in the final minutes to turn a tie game into an 18-14 victory over CCBC Essex on Tuesday. The win almost guarantees the Fighting Owls an opening round bye in next week's District Tournament, where one win would send the team back to the NJCAA Tournament for the second consecutive season.
Colleen Chassagne broke the 13-13 tie with a tally from
Brittie Andrews.
Emily Nosek followed with back-to-back goals to extend the lead before Andrews and
Brittany Cudmore both found the back of the net to put Harford ahead 18-13. The Knights scored the final goal of the night, but it was not enough.
Nosek led the team with four goals while Andrews added three goals and three helpers for a six-point night.
Karley Bush also added three goals and
Sierra Sadtler scored twice.
Rachel Smith made 13 saves in goal.
