Women's Lax Earns Historic Win Over Anne Arundel, 16-13

Box Score BEL AIR, Md. - The Harford women's lacrosse team snapped a six-year, 12-game losing streak against annual conference powerhouse Anne Arundel on Tuesday with a 16-13 victory. The Fighting Owls jumped out to a 7-1 lead and held on for the victory.

The last time the Fighting Owls topped the Pioneers was April 22, 2008, an 18-10 win at home. Since then, Anne Arundel seemed to have Harford's number, winning half of the dozen games by double figures, including this year's season opener at AA, 22-12.

Tuesday evening, however, the Fighting Owl offense gave the team an early advantage it would not relinquish. Emily Nosek scored four times in the first 6:23 of the contest, giving Harford a 5-1 lead.

Colleen Chassagne netted three goals while Brittie Andrews and Karley Bush added two apiece. Rachel Smith made 12 saves in net for the win.

Harford travels to Howard on Friday.
