Farhan BachuHAGERSTOWN, Md. - The Harford men's soccer team (5-5, 5-1 MD JUCO) used three consecutive goals to win its fifth-straight MD JUCO contest on Wednesday, toppling Hagerstown, 4-2, on the road.
Trailing 2-1,
Josh Young scored the equalizer,
John Lynn netted the game winner and
Chris Anderson provided insurance.
Ryan Lesniewski put Harford on the board first.
Lynn's goal was the most remarkable off the four, as he received a through bal and finished it with one touch into the lower right corner for the game winner. The Fighting Owls evened things up just before Lynn's touch off a free kick from 20 yards out by Young.
Harford's first goal came off a pair of assists as
Farhan Bachu crossed it into the box and
Noah Walker flicked it on to a waiting Lesniewski who finished it out of the air. Clinging to a one goal lead late, Anderson picked off a pass at the top corner of the 18, beat a [air of Hawk defenders and curved the sphere to the back post.
Stephen Friend made a pair of saves en route to the victory in goal. The win gives Harford a 2-0 advantage in the Flight Night: Battle of the Birds rivalry with Hagerstown. The Fighting Owls, who have never won the cup in the first two years of competition, have never led 2-0. The volleyball team defeated Hagerstown at home earlier this month to claim the first point of the season.
