McHENRY, Md. - The Harford women's basketball team (15-4, 6-1 MD JUCO) reached triple digits for the sixth time this season, and third in its last four games, in a 103-64 road victory at Garrett (8-11, 3-6 MD JUCO) on Wednesday.
Ashley Smith led the offensive charge with 24 points while
Jazmin Johnson added 23 points, five assists and four steals.
Mia Fitts continued to stuff the stat sheet with 15 points and eight rebounds. The frontcourt of
Jasalyn Denkins and Ashley Hightower combined for 27 points and 18 rebounds, with Denkins earning the double-double with 14 and 10.
The contest started slow for the Fighting Owls, who only scored 19 points in the first 10 minutes, but the second 10 saw the offense erupt for 34 points en route to a 53-29 halftime lead. The Lakers would not go away after the break, though, cutting the lead to 58-40, but Garrett would get no closer.
The Fighting Owls return home for a special Hall of Fame game against Chesapeake on Saturday at 11:30 a.m.
