BEL AIR, Md. - Everything was clicking for the Harford women's basketball team on Friday night as the Fighting Owls crushed the previous school record of points set earlier this month in a 139-72 rout of Frederick.
The Fighting Owls scored 76 points in the first half and connected on a dozen 3-pointers en route to the school record. Overall, Harford shot 57-of-102 (55.9 percent) and committed just four turnovers. Eight of the nine players tallied double-digit point totals. The Fighting Owls shot 50.0 percent from 3-point range and were a perfect 13-for-13 from the line.
Ashley Hightower scored 25 points and added 16 rebounds in her best game of the year. Frontcourt mate
Jasalyn Denkins totaled 23 points on 8-of-9 shooting, inlcuding 5-of-5 from behind the arc to go with 12 rebounds.
Jazmin Johnson and
Mia Fitts added 19 and 18, respectively, while
Ashley Smith chipped in with 15.
Megan Aro and
Tori Pennington came off the bench to both net career-high 13 points, apiece.
Connor Hanley recorded 10 points while
Zana Godoy added seven assists.
