Angela Kuhn scored her second hat trick in as many games to lead the women's soccer team to a 4-0 win over Frederick on a rainy Friday night.
Harford (6-2, 3-1 MD JUCO) scored a pair of goals in the opening five minutes and never looked back. The Fighting Owls scored two more in the second half and buckled down defensively to secure their second shutout of the season in back to back games.
Kuhn put the fighting Owls on top in the blink of an eye with a goal just 37 seconds into the match. She scored again four minutes later and just like that, Harford was up 2-0. She completed her hat trick with a goal in the 63
rd minute putting Harford on top 4-0. The sophomore midfielder widened her lead as the top scorer in the MD JUCO conference with her 11
th, 12
th, and 13
th goals of the season. It marked the second hat trick of her career as she pulled off the feat just three days prior in Harford's 6-0 thrashing at CCBC Essex.
Liz Fitch netted her second goal of the season in the 55
th minute of the game.
Abbie Springer chipped in with an assist on Kuhn's third goal of the evening. It was her third helper of the season.
Jazmine Thacker and the Fighting Owl back line was strong in defense, notching the team's second shutout in a row. Thacker needed to make just three saves to keep Frederick (3-6, 0-5 MD JUCO) off the board.
The Fighting Owls next contest will come on the road Tuesday as they look to keep their strong play going against CCBC Catonsville.
