BEL AIR, Md. - The Harford men's soccer team (8-3-1 MD JUCO) scored seven second-half goals to pull away from Allegany on Wednesday. The win locked up fifth place in the conference for the Fighting Owls.
The eight MD JUCO victories ties for second on the all-time charts with the 2012 and 2013 seasons. The school record of 11 wins was set by the 2011 team with an undefeated 11-0-1 record.
John Lynn tallied four goals in the win. He converted on a penalty kick for the first goal of the game and scored three second half tallies for his career-high performance.
Corey Alt and
Noah Walker were in a giving mood on the afternoon. The midfielders combined for five assists, with Walker setting a career-high with three helpers.
Walker added a goal to go along with his three assists.
Gui Barbosa found the back of the net twice and
Drew Adams and
Will Pappas each netted one tally in the win.
The Fighting Owls secured the No. 2 seed and an opening round bye in next weekend's Region XX Championships. Harford will host a semifinal match on Wednesday at 5 p.m. at Harford Stadium between the winner of Saturday's 3/6 matchup.
