ROCKVILLE, Md. - The No. 2 Harford women's basketball team advanced to Semifinal Saturday with a 91-40 victory over Prince George's in the 2015 MD JUCO Quarterfinals on Thursday evening. Six Fighting Owls scored in double figures in the Fighting Owls' ninth-straight win.
Ashley Hightower recorded a double-double with 16 points and 14 rebounds. She shot 8-for-13 from the floor and pulled in seven offensive and defensive boards. Classmate
Ashley Smith also tallied 16 points on 6-of-10 shooting to go with six rebounds and five assists.
Jasalyn Denkins recorded a double-double with 10 points and 10 boards.
Jazmin Johnson added 14 points, seven boards and five helpers while
Mia Fitts stuffed the stat sheet with 10 points, eight caroms, seven assists and four steals.Â
Zana Godoy netted 13 bench points and
Connor Hanley had a baker's dozen rebounds.
The Fighting Owls started the game off on a 16-0 run and never trailed in their 18th win in their last 19 games. The No. 6 Montgomery Raptors upset No. 3 Chesapeake, 61-59, on their home floor in the nightcap. Harford will play Montgomery on Saturday at 3 p.m. No. 1 Baltimore City will play No. 4 Hagerstown in the other semifinal contest on Saturday at 1 p.m.
