Game Recap: Men's Lacrosse |

Furious Fourth Flattens Union

BEL AIR, Md. - The Harford men's lacrosse team (2-5) scored six-straight goals in the fourth quarter to help erase a two-goal defecit in an 11-6 victory over No. 10 Union (3-3) on Sunday. All six Fighting Owls' goals in the final period had assists as they were set up by perfect passes from the Harford attack.

In a game of runs, Harford took a 4-0 lead through almost the entire first half until Union finally got on the board with 19 seconds left before halftime. The third quarter belonged to the visiting Owls, as Union scored five consecutive goals in the period to take a 6-4 lead. Harford freshman Pete Vasilas found himself alone in front of the goal, and after a few quick jukes, stopped the Union run and cut the lead to 6-5 with 1:11 left in the third.

That move seemed to flip the momentum, as Harford owned the final frame, outscoring Union 6-0 on six team effort goals. Jeremy Scranton and Mike Cooke were the table setters in the quarter, both collecting three assists. The quick passing from the duo set up Andrew Lebrun three times and Vasilas twice.

Vasilas led the offense with five goals while Lebrun added three tallies and one helper. Both Scranton and Cooke chipped in with one goal and three assists. Ethan White made 11 saves, collected five groundballs and forced a team-high three turnovers to earn the win.

The Fighting Owls host No. 2 Nassau on Tuesday at 6 p.m.
