BEL AIR, Md. - The Harford baseball team (5-3) clubbed eight extra-base hits and three home runs in a doubleheader sweep of SUNY Adirondack on Monday. The Fighting Owls were victorious in five innings of both contests, 11-1 and 12-2.
Harford 11, SUNY 1Brett Hash continued his assault on baseballs, smacking another two-run home run in the opener. The first baseman's moonshot was the beginning of a four-run "walk-off" fifth inning.
Freshman
Tanner Forry hit his first collegiate home run in the fourth and went 2-for-2 with three RBIs.
Jamal Clarke collected a two-run single in the second and Dominic DiSabitino drove him home in the next at bat.
Dalton Reed kept the Timberwolves off balance, earning his second win in as many starts. He scattered four hits while striking out five without walking a batter.
Harford 12, SUNY 2John Mastrangelo crushed a two-run shot to tie the game in the first inning, kick-starting a five-run opening frame in the nightcap. He was one of nine Fighting Owls to collect at least one hit in the win.
Hash connected on another triple, his third in two days, after Mastrangelo's homer. The three-bagger just missed being back-to-back home runs, hitting the wall in deep center. In his last three games, Hash is 5-for-7 with three triples, two home runs, seven runs, seven walks and 11 RBIs.
Anthony Atticks (1-1) allowed two runs in three innings on three hits while striking out three and walking three.
Alec O'Dell added a two-run double and Andrew Valicka doubled home another in the in the five-run fourth.
The Fighting Owls host Delaware County in a doubleheader on Tuesday at 3 p.m.
