KUTZTOWN, Pa. - The Harford women's tennis team (4-2) defeated NCAA Division II's Kutztown University on Wednesday, 5-2. The Fighting Owls earned wins at both doubles matches and at Nos. 3-5 singles.
Harford made quick work at doubles, claiming an 8-1 victory at No. 1 and an 8-0 victory at No. 2.
Julie Sibbesen and
Marina Schmidt earned two victories on the day. Sibbesen was victroius at No. 1 doubles and No. 3 singles while Schmidt won at No. 2 doubles and No. 4 singles.
Harford almost swept the Bears overall, dropping matches at No. 1 & 2 singles in tie-breaker. Hailiegh Carper fell 6-1, 3-6, (7) at No. 1 while
Laura Barros dropped her No. 2 match 4-6, 6-4 (6).
On the men's side, Kutztown took a 9-0 sweep over Harford (5-5).Â
