Box Score 2 LINCOLN, R.I. - The Harford volleyball team (13-4) went 1-1 on Sunday to slip into a third-place tie at the CCRI Classic. After a loss to Howard and a win over Bunker Hill, The Fighting Owls dropped a one-set play-in against the hosts to get to the playoffs.
Howard 2, Harford 1
The Fighting Owls won the second set of the match against the Dragons, but Howard took the battle of the HCC's in the third set, 15-10.
Morgan Tennant collected 18 assists and 15 digs while
Tiyana Bumbray,
Haleigh Plummer and
Alexis Goldston each pounded out six kills. Bumbray also added 15 digs, while
Braquelle Horton added 13 and
Britney Fleming chipped in with a career-best 10.
Alicia Horton had a personal-best six aces.
Harford 2, Bunker Hill 0
The Fighting Owls were led by Tennant's 15 assists and four service aces in the easy 25-18, 25-11 win.
Braquelle Horton added 10 digs and Bumbray tallied a half dozen kills again to lead the offense.
CCRI 16, Harford 14
In the tie-breaker, the host Knights advanced past a sloppy Harford squad. The Fighting Owls managed just five kills while committing six total errors. Tennant had two assists and two kills in three atempts.
Mariah Lemme added her first career kill and service ace in the loss.
The Fighting Owls host Chesapeake on Thursday at 6 p.m.
