BALTIMORE - The Harford volleyball team (15-4, 6-0 MD JUCO) battled back and claimed a five-set victory at Region XX rival Baltimore City (2-14, 0-6 MD JUCO) on Sunday. The Fighting Owls were victorious 25-15, 20-25, 23-25, 25-8, 16-14.

Harford trailed 13-11 in the decisive fifth set but bounced BCCC with five of the next six points to remain unbeaten in MD JUCO play in a dramatic way. The Fighting Owls took a 14-13 lead before the Panthers knotted it at 14-14. Harford was awarded the next point on a net violation and Tiyana Bumbray pounded out her team-best ninth and final kill for the win.

Bumbray was one of many stars on the afternoon, also leading the team with 21 digs in the five-setter. She currently leads the MD JUCO with 146 kills and ranks third with 191 digs and she is also climbing the Harford record books ranking third in all-time digs with 418 and fourth all-time with 305 kills.

Haleigh Plummer helped the Fighting Owls bounce back from a 2-1 hole with four of her career-high 11 service aces in the fourth set. She ranks third in the conference with 41 and fourth all-time at Harford with 91 career aces. She also added eight kills and a team-high .192 hitting percentage.

Morgan Tennant was also an ace at the serving line, hammering out six winners to up her MD JUCO-best total to 53 on the year. The sophomore setter dished out 31 assists for her fourth 30-plus assist contest on the season, giving her an MD JUCO-best 390 assists on the year. Tennant was one of five Fighting Owls to record double-digit digs in the win with 10.

Alicia Horton chipped in with seven kills, 12 digs and three aces for the defending champs. Braquelle Horton and Mariah Lemme both recorded 14 digs and Alexis Goldston contributed five kills.

The Fighting Owls travel to Montgomery (8-5, 2-1 MD JUCO) on Tuesday for a 6 p.m. start.
