BALTIMORE - A red-hot third quarter helped the Harford women's basketball team blast rival Baltimore City on the road on Wednesday, 75-58. The Fighting Owls outscored the Panthers 28-13 in the pivotal period.
Mia Fitts led all scorers with 23 points, including a 13-point third quarter. The sophomore leader shot 4-for-5 from the floor in the third and 5-of-7 from the line after just a three-point performance in the first half.
Daisa Harris handed out 11 assists marking the fifth time this season she has reached double figures in giving.
The Fighting Owls led by four after one but just 35-34 at the half. The third quarter was again the big frame for Mike Seney's bunch as it has been all season. Harford built a lead in the second half by as many as 25.
Janessa Fauntroy had her best game of the season with 17 points and 13 rebounds, both career highs and her first career double-double.
The Fighting Owls travel to Prince George's on Friday.
