HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Despite the ball barely crossing the half field line for the entire contest, the Fighting Owls struggled at first to get on the scoreboard despite bombarding the Cardinals goal with shots. It took until the 24th minute to break the tie as Briana Stabile finished a Grace Humes cross. Humes would later score in the second half as she finished with three points in the game.
  • Chase Otenasek also scored in the first half as Stabile went back to her usual role of being the provider as opposed to the provided. Otenasek also scored midway through the second half on a Hazle assist.
  • Shianne Georgantakis continues to be a monster for the Fighting Owls as she scored another two goals in this game to keep up her amazing scoring streak.
  • Alexandria Adams was also able to add two goals in the game as she was assisted by Mackenzie Wills and Emily Doleschal. Wills also assisted on Emily Raulie's goal early in the second half; her second goal of the season.
  • However, the most exciting moment of the game probably goes to Shannon Hazle when she was able to score on a long cross by Abbie Springer. Hazle received a big ovation from both sides of the stadium as she put in the first goal of her Fighting Owls career.

GAME NOTES
  • The Fighting Owls out-shot the Cardinals 74-1 including a 35-1 spread for shots on goal. The score could have been much worse if not for the 25 saves by the Cardinals goalkeeper.
  • Georgantakis has now scored 11 goals in the last five games. Georgantakis co-leads the conference with 46 shots tied with her teammate Alexandria Adams and Wills is just behind them at 3rd in the conference with 49 shots. Both Georgantakis and Adams finished the game with an astounding 17 shots.
  • Kristen Shock picked up her 6th shutout of the season which is her 3rd in a row. Shock is 2nd in the conference in Save Percentage, Goals Against, and Goals Against Average.
  • This was the final conference game for the Fighting Owls this season. Their 21 points is currently tied for first, but the Montgomery Raptors have one more game to play as they play Frederick on Friday October 14th for a chance to win the conference outright. Harford's only conference loss this season came at the hands of Montgomery.

UP NEXT

  • Mercer County Currently sits at 11-2 as the Region 19 from Trenton, Nj. has only lost to Montgomery and ASA.
