HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Jerry Washington showed up big when the Fighting Owls really needed him as he scored on an Ayoub Fouadi assist within seven minutes of the opening kick-off.
  • Robel Bisrat scored just his second goal of the season and his first since the opening game of the year as he was able to punch home a Brandon Klepetka long free kick.
  • Washington once again took his chance well, this time in the 37th minute, as a long pass gave Washington the opportunity to squirrel past a defender, dribble around the goalkeeper, and tap the ball into an empty net for a 3-0 Fighting Owls lead.
  • The second half was more about cards than goals as 5 yellow cards were handed out including a second yellow for Catonsville's Hymad N'Diaye who was given a red card just 30 seconds away from the final whistle.
  • Harford was able to really control possession throughout the game, allowing just 6 shots in the game and none in the entire 2nd half.

GAME NOTES
  • The game was reminiscent of the previous match between these two teams as there were numerous cases of hard tackles and flared tension.
  • Harford goalkeeper Tanner Peterson earned his third shutout of the season, albeit only having to make one save in the game.
  • The Fighting Owls welcomed back a pair of critical players who had been injured in recent games as Ayoub Fouadi and Larsen Green showed how important they are to the team as they helped to spark an offense that was anemic against Prince George's earlier in the week.
UP NEXT
  • Harford will continue their quest for a regional championship as they will take on Essex on Wednesday, October 26th at 6 PM with the game being played at CCBC Dundalk.
  • The Fighting Owls shocked the Knights in their previous match-up this season as Harford upset Essex 2-1 at Harford Stadium on September 23rd.
