The Short Story: The Harford women's basketball team jumped out early and then cruised to their fifth straight victory with a 118-39 victory over the NOVA Nighthawks.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • The Fighting Owls jumped out to a 35-10 lead after the first quarter for the second straight game.
  • Daisa Harris led the way with 24 points and 5 assists along with 5 steals.
  • Danielle Durjan shot 6-12 from the field on her way to a 15 point game.
  • Dahnye Redd was just a few rebounds away from back to back double-doubles as she finished with 11 points and 7 rebounds.
  • Mykaela Bailey scored 10 points in just 11 minutes as she hit a couple of long range three-pointers from the corner.
  • Alysha Berry and Nazje Norton finished with 9 points with each also hitting from way downtown and Berry added 4 steals to the cause.
  • Other key contributors included Adrienne Jones, Dominique Walker, and Tolulope Otoki all scoring 8 points each.

GAME NOTES:
  • The Fighting Owl defense was impeccable again coming up with 25 steals leading to 47 points off turnovers.
  • Harford only shot 25% from behind the arc as they will continue to look for better numbers in that category.
  • The Nighthawks only picked up 34 rebounds in the game compared to the 55 from Harford.

  • The Fighting Owls will continue to host the Harford Hoops Classic on Saturday, November 12th.
  • Harford will take on District rivals ASA at 3 pm tomorrow in what will likely be the first real test for this dominant Fighting Owls team.
