HOW IT HAPPENED
  • In stark contrast to the women's game, ASA led just once during the game just two minutes after opening tip-off before Harford took the lead back and never trailed again.
  • The game was still very much in doubt at halftime as the Avengers trailed by just 4 points at the break; thanks in large part to a monster game by forward Devere Crieghton who finished with 18 points and 25 rebounds.
  • With ASA still hanging on to hopes through the opening minutes of the second half, Harford put an end to that with a 14-0 run highlighted by a couple of three-pointers by Aaron McDonald with Micah Till and Malik Jones also hitting from behind the arc in the run.
  • The defense became a big factor in the game as Harford finished with 14 team blocks led by Dom Keyes with 4 and Juanir Moore with 3.
  • After that, it was just a matter of Harford holding on to the lead that was as high as 26 points when Ronnie Krsolovic hit a lay-up with a minute left in the game.
GAME NOTES
  • In addition to McDonald's 16 points, other double-digit scorers include Isaiah White with 11 and Dom Keyes with 10.
  • Isaiah White verbally committed to play next year at the University of Maine and plans to sign his letter of intent on November 14th.
  • The Fighting Owls used what coach Mike Smelkinson described as "gang rebounding" as 14 different Harford players recorded a rebound with White, Keyes, Moore, Till, and Jalen Thompson all finished with 7 rebounds each.
  • Aaron McDonald also led the team in assists and he tallied 7 in the game.

UP NEXT
  • The Fighting Owls will begin their conference schedule on Wednesday, November 16th as they travel to Hagerstown for a 8 pm game.
  • Hagerstown has yet to play a regular season game this year and will have a tough test to start their season as the Fighting Owls appear to be in mid-season form already.
