The Short Story: The Harford women's basketball team easily routed conference opponent Frederick 127-25.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • The Fighting Owls continued their trend of starting games fast as they went on a 17-0 run to start the game. 
  • Eight different Harford players finished the game with double-digit scoring. 
  • Tolulope Otoki again put forth a great performance, leading the game with 19 points along with 7 rebounds in the game. 
  • All five of the Harford starters were in double-digits despite playing limited minutes when the score started to get out of hand. 
  • Daisa Harris continued her fantastic year with 16 points, 7 assists, and 6 steals. 
  • Danielle Durjan scored 14, Dahnye Redd had 12 points and 9 rebounds, Alysha Berry started for the second straight game and scored 12 points, and Dominique Walker scored 10 points on 5-5 shooting.
  • The Harford bench was stellar once again as Joy Morton scored 12 points and Nazje Norton chipped in a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds thanks to a trio of three-pointers.
  • Therese Gilmore was dominant inside with 5 blocks, but provided the best moment of the game at the end of the 3rd quarter with a three-pointer that got the Harford bench roaring with appreciation.

GAME NOTES:
  • Harford shot 63% from the field in the first quarter and finished at 53% for the game.
  • Conversely, Frederick was 8-59 from the field for a dismal 13% and was 2-19 from behind the arc.
  • The Fighting Owls scored 80 points in the paint and 52 off turnovers.
UP NEXT:
  • The Fighting Owls will stay home to continue their conference schedule against Howard on Monday, November 21st at 5 pm.
  • Howard is 0-1 on the season and for the conference after having lost to Southern Maryland 81-38 in their season opener.
