HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Adrienne Jones hit a couple of three pointers from the corner to lead the Fighting Owls in a first quarter that was marred by turnovers and missed shots.
- Tolulope Otoki started to get involved more in the second stanza as she scored on a driving lay-up followed by a trey from the top of the key as part of a 10 point quarter for her.
- Daisa Harris followed that up with a steal that led to a fast break lay-up with the and-one tacked on. Otoki again scored on an offensive rebound and put-back to get Harford up by 10 at 29-19 with seven minutes left in the first half.
- Just when Monroe started to get some momentum going, Alysha Berry answered with a long range shot and Harris made a couple of fast break baskets to extend the Harford lead to 43-30 at halftime.
- Harford led by as many as 15 in the third quarter, but that lead gradually shrank all the way down to 7 after a three pointer by Monroe with six minutes left in the fourth quarter. A big Danielle Durjan block was grabbed by Dominique Walker who threw a long pass back to Durjan for a lay-up to get the lead back up to 70-59 with five minutes left.
- Nichole Collins hit a late three pointer that extended the Fighting Owls lead to 18 as they were able to close out Monroe comfortably in the end.
