BEL AIR, Md. - The No. 4 Harford women's lacrosse team remained unbeaten with an 18-3 victory over CCBC Essex on Tuesday. The Fighting Owls started slow but gained momentum as the offense heated up on the cold afternoon.
Harford led just 3-1 with six minutes remaining in the opening half, but finished the stanza on a four-goal flurry. The Knights scored with seven ticks on the clock to make the score at the half, 7-2, Harford.
But the halftime speech from the Fighting Owls coaching staff kick started the offense as Harford opened the second period scoring five times in the first 5:05 to push the game to a running clock and cruised to the MD JUCO win. Harford scored the first 11 goals of the second half.
Lauren Haggerty again led the Fighting Owls with five goals and three helpers and
Cassidy Jones totaled four points with one goal and three assists.
Megan Aro found the back of the net twice and assisted on three more goals while
Karlie Abbott,
Danielle Hurley andÂ
Sierra Donovan both chipped in with three tallies.Â
Allie Storke made eight saves in the win, improving to 4-0 between the pipes.
Harford hosts No. 1 Monroe CC on Friday at 3:30 p.m.
