BEL AIR, Md. - The Harford women's lacrosse team (11-2, 7-0 MD JUCO) earned a school-record tying 11th victory on Monday, defeating Anne Arundel (8-6, 2-4 MD JUCO), 22-14. The Fighting Owls tied the 2002 team that finished the season 11-4.
Harford jumped out to an 8-1 lead and never trailed in their seventh conference win. The Fighting Owls can win their second-straight MD JUCO title outright next week at home with a win over Howard.
Lauren Cavanaugh and
Lauren Haggerty both score six goals in the win. Cavanaugh added three assists for a career-high nine points while
Megan Aro led the team with four assists and totaled a career-high seven points with her hat trick.
Cassidy Jones had three assists to up her NJCAA-leading and Harford career school-record total to 52.
Sierra Donovan scored twice and five other Fighting Owls added one goal in the win.
Allie Storke made six saves in goal and the defense forced 16 turnovers. The Fighting Owls go for the school record win total when they travel to Nassau on Saturday.
