BEL AIR, Md. - The Harford women's lacrosse team (13-2, 8-0 MD JUCO) completed a undefeated conference season, claiming the 2016 MD JUCO Championship with a 12-11 victory over Howard (11-2, 6-2 MD JUCO) on Tuesday. The Fighting Owls jumped out to a 3-0 lead, never trailed, and kept possession for the final 4:01 in the one-goal win.
Lauren Haggerty set the single-season goals record early in the contest, as she scored two of her three goals in the first 4:32. She now has 62 goals, breaking Melissa Warczynski's record of 60 goals in 2010. Haggerty's 82 points this season is the most in any single season at Harford.
Cassidy Jones got the Fighting Owls on the board with a pair of goals in the first 2:29, while assisting on the other in Harford's 3-0 lead. She extended her school record assists total to 56 with her three helpers in the win. Both Haggerty and Jones missed significant time late, which allowed the Dragons to inch closer, though the Fighting Owls never lost the lead.
Allie Storke made eight saves, including a pair of late stops that led to Harford playing keep away for the final 4:01. Freshman

Brittany Minsky made the most of her Sophomore Day with a pair of goals to start the second-half.
Jozlynn Kelly netted the other Harford goal, a critical tally late in the first half.
Megan Aro moved into second place in the NJCAA with 29 assists with her trio of helpers. Her 48 career assists rank second, behind teammate Jones with her 56.
The Fighting Owls, who claimed the top seed in the NJCAA Region XX Championships and an opening round bye. The will play in the Semifinals on May 7 at Howard.
