LA PLATA, Md- The Harford men's soccer team unexpectedly lost to Southern Maryland as they fell 3-2. The loss drops the Fighting Owls back under .500 as they now sit at 5-6 overall and 3-4 in conference play.

Despite the great optimism around the team of late after weekend wins against Essex and Manor, the Fighting Owls were unable to overcome a one-man show in the Hawks Jehoshua Otuya who put in a hat trick on the day. 

Larsen Green continued to be effective in front of the net as he scored his 7th goal of the season in the first half; all 7 of which have come in the last 5 games. However, Green had an opportunity to put in another goal in the game as he was given a penalty kick chance, but Green was not able to finish it.

Daniel Milad also scored in the game as he tied the game with just over 10 minutes left in regulation before Southern Maryland scored 5 minutes later to win it.

The Fighting Owls will look to get back on track as they play at Frederick on Friday, September 30th at 4 PM.
